Laramie County Senior Services, Inc. Executive Director Update

History

In November 2021, with the support of the Laramie County Commissioners, 6th Penny funding for a new Laramie County Senior Activity Center was approved by the voters; the new Center will be constructed in Cheyenne in the 4200 block of east Pershing Boulevard.

Transitioning

To most effectively generate the additional resources required to meet the growing needs of the community’s seniors, Laramie County Senior Services is now evolving from a Cheyenne Housing Authority program into a 501c3 nonprofit organization with operations to be based in the new Senior Activity Center. The mission of Laramie County Senior Services, Inc. is “Honoring and preserving Wyoming history and values by enhancing the independence, dignity and self-reliance of all Laramie County senior citizens.”

Executive Director

LCSS, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has hired Shanna Harris as its Executive Director. Shanna began her work with Laramie County Senior Services, Inc. (LCSS, Inc.) on September 14, 2023.  Shanna has a Training and Development degree and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Wyoming.  She obtained a Certificate of Non-Profit Executive Management from the University of San Diego in San Diego, California in January 2023.  Shanna served as Executive Director of the Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies in Casper and most recently, as Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Southern Minnesota.  Shanna is excited to work with the LCSS, Inc.
